GLULAM is precisely designed as an engineered , laminated structural
component.
It is fabricated by bonding together accurately planed timber laminations,
with their grain in the longitudinal direction of the member.
This forms a structural unit of great strength and dimensional stability.
GLULAM can be made to almost any size and used for arches and portals,
roof, lintel and floor beams, for columns, rafters and "A" frames, cross
wall purlin and joists.
GLULAM is made by gluing together strips of kiln dried solid timber
to form a slab. GLULAM is stronger and more stable than solid timber of
equivalent size. Problems such as twisting, warping and splitting, that
commonly occur with solid slabs of timber, are virtually eliminated.
